I checked the Event Viewer and obviously found a bunch of informational entries, and some error codes - but looking at those codes, I didn't find any that seemed to deal with VLC specifically. There was an error while transferring the data to the FTP servers. Would you like to send a bug report to the developers team?' When I click 'Yes', I get another pop-up moments later that says 'Report sending failed.
However, when I double click on the VLC program now, it will give me a pop-up that says 'Ooops: VLC media player just crashed. Someone from another forum suggested that I download a different update from March 20th (KB4015438) - but that didn't fix it either. No pop ups were happening until last night when I decided to uninstall my most recent Windows update from March 30th (KB3150513). Avoid any links or button that do not present that information.
Watch the URL information that appears when you mouse over a link or button. You may have a corrupted copy, an old copy, or something entirely different. There are many 'fake' sites that attempt to trick you into downloading something other than what you truly wish to download. Http /Also verify the source of your VLC Player download. Check the logs for error codes, warnings, or informational entries. You might find some additional information via Event Viewer.
